Peg Perego Primo Viaggio SIP
The Peg Perego Primo Viaggio sets the bar for safety and fashion in infant car seats. While you’ll find many infant car seats with detachable LATCH bases on the market, a little research reveals that Peg’s Primo Viaggio is one of the best-engineered options. Design improvements to this ’06 model allow this car seat to keep babies safe longer—up to 22 pounds or 30 inches tall. Peg has also added Side Impact Protection
The Primo Viaggio car seat can be installed easily using the LATCH system or seat belt. If your family has more than one vehicle, you can buy additional bases, and keep a base installed in each car to make for quick transitions. Note that the base itself is pretty heavy. Peg Perego is able to keep the weight of the carrier down by centering most of the weight in the base. If you plan to keep your base installed in your car all the time, it’s a non-issue, but it’s a factor to consider if you plan on moving the base often. Once the base is installed, the carrier will snap in and out. This makes it simple to carry your sleeping baby back into the house without disturbing her. If you’re on the go, the car seat carrier will snap into a compatible travel system stroller for convenience. And in a pinch, the Primo Viaggio’s versatile carrier can be installed without the base using your car’s seat belt.

The seat cover is easily removable and hand washable (we don’t recommend tossing it in the washing machine).
