Schwinn Deluxe Double Jogging Stroller for only $289.99 by Pacific Cycle (InStep/GT/ Schwinn)The Schwinn Deluxe Double Jogging Stroller (Model SC200) is essentially geared more for the runner in mind. If you are checking out the Schwinn Double as well, these are the important differences between the two models: The Deluxe has all 16" wheels (as opposed to a combination of 12" and 16"), the front does NOT swivel, and there is NO baby bar up front. The Schwinn Deluxe Double is nearly identical to the InStep 10K double (not surprising, it's modeled off of the InStep). The differences are that the Schwinn model comes in a different color, has reflective tape, comes with a cooler (not sure about that idea, but I suppose it could come in handy at times), AND the Schwinn Deluxe Double has a 16" front wheel. Like all the double strollers from Schwinn and InStep, the seats recline individually, there is plenty of storage space, and it folds up really easily. While the quality is not in line with the high-end double strollers like a BOB, it really is a great stroller at an affordable price. It's only available in one color.

Pros include the reclining seats and the crotch protection around the buckles.

While it's not a great feature for running, the air filled 16" wheels in back and 12" wheel up front make for a smooth, easy ride. You can lock the front wheel while running, but it may not always track ideally. That's been a frequent (but relatively minor) complaint we hear about InSteps. Keep in mind that a console tray isnâ€™t available for the Double Safari, but there is an ample sized basket under the seat. The handle bar up front for your child is great. Safety wise, itâ€™s great for when you donâ€™t feel like clipping and unclipping the 5-point harness for the millionth time that day. Kids love it too itâ€™s a stage for all of their toys. Another perk to this double - the seats recline individually for a personalized ride.

I like that each seat reclines individually, and that it has easy to use parking foot brakes. It folds the same as all the InStep jogging strollers - easily.

It has a frame constructed of 6061 T6 aluminum alloy, 16" quick release alloy wheels, and independent rear suspension. The wide-track tires are pretty heavy duty. There is a Zip-in/out vinyl weathershield to keep your child dry during bad weather. The canopy has a window so you can peek at your child during your jog. An insulated side cooler bag with carry straps keeps bottles and beverages cold (I didn't quite understand this idea, but it may come in handy someday). Perhaps this accessory would be a good fit if your family tends to stroll to the park for picnics. Another suburbanite friendly feature on the Schwinn Deluxe Single is the console with a cup holder and covered tray. The general consensus: the Schwinn Deluxe Single is a less of a jogging stroller, more of a rugged, sidewalk friendly, suburb navigatin' stroller.

Instep Alta Stroller for only $169.99 by Pacific Cycle (InStep/GT/ Schwinn)The Alta Single is the "top of the line" InStep stroller - making it one of the only Instep models that I'd be willing to recommend to runners. It has all 16" wheels, and an all-aluminum frame - including the wheel hubs (the steel hubs found in most other Instep strollers are prone to rust). The wheels are quick-release for easy break-down and storage, the seat reclines, and the rear shocks help smooth out the bumps a bit. The adjustable handle is an important feature - you can change the handlebar height to the position that best suits you. One thing the Alta Single has over the rest of the Instep line is its sun canopy - it provides a lot more protection than their standard canopies do.

The main catch on this model is its swivel front 12â€ wheel. Keep in mind that itâ€™s not for a runner, but it really is a great alternative to your basic mall stroller with little swivel wheels that are too small to get down a crack-ridden sidewalk. The 12â€ front wheel can lock into place while you walk the park, and unlock to swivel while you maneuver the aisles of the store. I also like the adjustable handle (from 33 Â½ -43 Â½ "). Itâ€™s a simple, straightforward feature, but for me at 6â€™3â€ tall, itâ€™s a huge perk. An ample sized storage basket, reclining seat, cup holder tray, all add to the mall-ish benefits. Oh, one more thing . . . the handle bar up front for your child is a big plus; kids love it, and it makes things bit safer if youâ€™re not into doing the whole 5 point buckle thing every time they hop in and out umpteen times a day.

The two 16" rear wheels and 12" front wheel are quick release. For sure, you aren't going to be able to maneuver over bumps or curbs as well (all 16" or 20" wheels would offer better performance). The front swivel wheel makes up a little for wheel size. Swiveling, it maneuvers well in crowded malls or buildings, and then locks for jogs or uneven terrain. My son loves the front bar and the little child tray for toys and snacks. And the parent console has a spot for your drink and keys, spare change, etc. The Single Jogging Stroller folds down easily. One thing does stick out - instead of the usual ledge or stirrups for your kid's feet, the Schwinn Single SC500 has a platform. Hmm. I wonder if they designed this with little feet dangling too close to a spinning front wheel in mind. The seat reclines, and there's storage space. Basically, a stroller suited to strolling and light jogs on smoothly paved surfaces. But definitely quality and totally affordable.
